About the position

The Purchasing Co-op position at Bendix offers a unique opportunity for students majoring in Supply Chain Management, Materials, Operations, or Purchasing to gain hands-on experience within the Integrated Supply Chain group. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to the purchasing process and supply chain management in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a co-op, you will be involved in various aspects of the purchasing function, including preparing and managing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) processes, analyzing quotations, and assisting in obtaining capital appropriations and issuing purchase orders. You will also maintain monthly and annual metrics, which are crucial for tracking performance and efficiency within the supply chain. In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist the Supply Chain manager and buyers with day-to-day projects and responsibilities, participate in supplier and cross-functional team meetings, and engage in manufacturing reviews as well as monthly interplant meetings. This position will also require you to assist in invoicing and payment issues, provide support on supplier transition projects, and help with new product introductions, including the identification of new suppliers. You will act as a liaison for supply chain management on the product change process team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across various departments. This co-op position is an excellent way to develop your skills in supply chain management while contributing to the success of Bendix, a leader in braking technologies. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Currently attending an accredited college or university
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
