About the position
The Co-op: Software Engineer, Product Development position at MSA, The Safety Company, offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in software engineering within a tech company focused on safety products. The role involves working on embedded systems and hardware/software problem-solving, contributing to the development of technologies that protect firefighters and workers in hazardous environments. Interns will receive technical coaching and mentoring while engaging with a diverse team in a supportive corporate culture.
Responsibilities
- Engage in embedded systems and hardware/software-related problem solving.
- Participate in feature development, automated testing, and user experience design.
- Contribute to the internal development platform and tools.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an ABET-accredited program with a major in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Possess strong technical skills in C/C++/Python.
- Demonstrate a proactive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
- Have awareness of the software lifecycle and its challenges.
