About the position

This position is a co-op opportunity for Chemical Engineering students at Nutrien's Aurora, North Carolina phosphate facility. The role is designed for current students who will return to their studies after the work term, providing hands-on experience in a leading agricultural company focused on sustainability and innovation. The position involves both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions, emphasizing safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist the site Engineering department with various duties
• Engage in project work related to chemical engineering
• Advance process-related projects
• Troubleshoot process problems
• Inspect chemical processing equipment

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent related program
• Completed at least 1 year of study in the relevant field
• Returning to full-time studies after the work term
• Demonstrate positive safety behavior and leadership
• Willingness to learn and gain knowledge through training
• Strong interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
• Motivation to set and achieve goals and take initiative
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Ability to work at heights and around potentially hazardous chemicals
• Comfortable working in confined spaces
• Able to hear and understand audible alarms and changes in noise levels
• Familiar with Microsoft's Office Suite
