About the position

Nutrien is seeking a Co-op Student in Chemical Engineering for a temporary, full-time, hourly paid position at our Aurora, North Carolina phosphate facility. This opportunity is designed for current students who have completed at least one year of an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related program at an accredited post-secondary institution. The successful candidate will be expected to return to their studies after the work term, which is set for a duration of six months, with potential adjustments to coincide with academic schedules. The work environment will be both indoors and outdoors, requiring the ability to work in all weather conditions. Standard work attire will include hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs, all of which will be provided by the company. In this role, the Co-op Student will assist the site Engineering department with various duties, including project work, advancing process-related projects, troubleshooting process problems, and inspecting chemical processing equipment. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, contributing to the operations of a leading provider of crop inputs and services. Responsibilities

  • Assist the site Engineering department with various duties.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related program.
  • Completed at least 1 year of study in the relevant field.
  • Returning to full-time studies after the work term.
  • Demonstrate positive safety behavior and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to learn and gain knowledge through training.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
