About the position

The Electrical Engineering Co-op Student position at Nutrien is designed for current Electrical Engineering students, providing a hands-on learning experience that bridges academic knowledge with real-world application. The role involves assisting the department with various engineering tasks at the Kennewick, Washington Nitrogen facility, with a potential transition to a full-time Engineer-in-Training role after the co-op term.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Department with various duties, including surveying the settings in the circuit breakers.
  • Develop project estimates for potential new projects.
  • Develop engineering specifications for electrical projects.
  • Work with electricians and contractors on large projects that are in progress at the site.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related program with a graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be comfortable and physically capable of entering and working in a confined space.
  • Must be able to hear and understand audible alarms, changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communications.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft's Office Suite.
