About the position
The CO-OP Student position in the Security Services Department at MIT Lincoln Laboratory offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). This six-month program allows students to work alongside security professionals, engaging in various functional areas such as Cyber Security, Physical Security, and Investigations. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and exposure to real-world security challenges, all within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic security projects focusing on clearance processing, computer forensic examinations, and cyber threat intelligence.
- Engage in a rotational schedule to gain exposure to different functional areas of the Security Services Department.
- Assist in database maintenance and emergency preparedness/risk management activities.
- Collaborate with security leadership and staff to solve complex security problems.
Requirements
- Enrollment in an accredited bachelor's/master's degree program in Criminal Justice or a similar field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interface with a variety of security professionals.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government DoD security clearance.
