About the position
The Assistant Boys Basketball Coach will support the head coach in developing the basketball program at North Chicago Community High School. This role involves assisting with practice planning, game strategy, and player development, while fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices.
- Support game strategy and player development.
- Foster a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.
- Help in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Requirements
- Experience in coaching basketball at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and strategies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with players and staff.
- Commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the court.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as a head coach or assistant coach.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of sports management software.
