About the position
The Varsity Coach for Boys Swimming at Mt. Pleasant High School is responsible for leading and developing the swimming program, instilling commitment, discipline, and teamwork among student-athletes. The coach will organize practices, manage the team, and ensure adherence to the CIF/CCS Coaches Code of Conduct while fostering positive communication with parents, staff, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of the rules and fundamental skills and techniques for swimming.
- Organizes practices and designs conditioning programs for the swimming team.
- Maintains positive communication with parents, students, staff, and the community.
- Instills commitment, discipline, and teamwork in student-athletes.
- Helps students balance academic workloads with athletic commitments.
- Maintains and inventories equipment and uniforms to ensure safety and minimize loss.
- Follows district guidelines and policies regarding management and organization of the team.
Requirements
- Playing experience in swimming at the high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional level.
- High school coaching experience at the Junior Varsity level or youth leagues/middle school in swimming or equivalent experience.
- Current State of California coaching certifications.
- Current certification required by the East Side Union High School District, including mandated reporter training.
- Must pass District Fingerprint clearance.
