About the position
The Girls Tennis Coach at Danville Public Schools is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality athletic program that emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring that all athletes meet academic eligibility requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a high-quality athletic program for girls tennis.
- Stress fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship among athletes.
- Monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators.
- Motivate students to achieve their best in both academics and sports.
- Model and promote a culture of high expectations for academics and sportsmanship.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge and skill to coach students in tennis and related activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators.
- Ability to motivate students.
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities and English language learners.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as a coach or participation in the sport at the high school or college level preferred.
