About the position

The Coastal Restoration Project Manager at WSP will lead and support multidisciplinary teams in managing natural resources projects, focusing on coastal habitat restoration and resiliency planning. This role involves obtaining grant funding, conducting biological fieldwork, providing technical and project management support, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to manage project budgets and timelines effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support multidisciplinary natural resources management teams to obtain grant funding.
  • Conduct biological fieldwork including wetland delineations, habitat classification, and water quality monitoring.
  • Provide technical, permitting, and project management support for coastal habitat restoration and resiliency projects.
  • Oversee project budgets, labor hours, expenses, and subcontractor costs.
  • Coordinate and oversee environmental monitoring and survey data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare and review technical reports and presentations for coastal restoration projects.
  • Assist with business development and proposal writing for new projects.
  • Maintain quality control standards for project deliverables.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
  • Self-manage assigned workload and perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural sciences, physical sciences, environmental or coastal engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • General familiarity with coastal restoration practices and relevant environmental laws.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GPS equipment.
  • Ability to swim and conduct in-water work, including snorkeling.
  • Interest in operating unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).
  • Completion of Florida Boating Safety Course.
