About The Position

GPI is seeking highly qualified Bridge Coatings and Coatings Inspectors to work on various projects throughout Portland and Maine. The role involves inspecting, accepting, and rejecting work performed according to specifications or applicable codes, with a focus on ensuring quality and compliance in bridge coating operations. The position requires travel to multiple job sites and may include night shifts, with work anticipated to start in the Spring of 2025.

Requirements

• NACE or SSPC Certified Coatings Inspectors with a minimum of Level I Certification and at least 1 year of experience inspecting bridge coating operations.
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR).
• Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to read, write, and understand plans and directions in English.
• Physical ability to stand for approximately 3 to 8 hours a day, traverse uneven ground, climb ladders, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

• Experience working on transportation agencies or municipal projects.
• Metalizing or shop inspection experience.
• Additional certifications including SSPC Bridge Coating Inspector (BCI) and SSPC C3 Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, accept, and/or reject work performed as detailed by specifications or applicable codes.
• Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports on conditions, progress, weather, and acceptability of work.
• Travel to multiple job sites as needed.
• Some assignments may include night shifts.
