About The Position

The Poultry Selection Worker (Selection Trainee) position at Cobb involves engaging in the training of the selection process of birds based on their conformation, physical attributes, and other heritable traits. The position is located at Dry Creek Farm in Deer Lodge, TN, and operates on a schedule from Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays and holidays. The working hours are from 5:20 am to 3:20 pm, subject to change based on production needs.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and perform simple math skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Applicants must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the training of selection of approximately 2700 pedigree birds daily based on conformation and physical attributes.
• Train on recording information on touch screen tablet and manual recording of bird data.
• Monitor bird handling, transfer, welfare, and selection numbers.
• Wash and sanitize approximately 100 coops daily and maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
• Assist with moving birds and setting up for selection activities.
• Properly euthanize weak or ill birds in accordance with company policy.
