About the position

The Cochlear Implant Audiologist is responsible for independent evaluation, diagnosis and interpretation of hearing disorders. The Audiologist will provide cochlear implant evaluations, assessments, and programming/rehabilitation for new implant candidates and previous recipients. The Audiologist will counsel patients and their family members regarding test results and will review options that best meet their hearing care needs. In addition, the Audiologist will administer diagnostic tests for patients outside of the cochlear implant program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent evaluations and diagnoses of hearing disorders.
  • Provide cochlear implant evaluations, assessments, and programming/rehabilitation.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding test results and hearing care options.
  • Administer diagnostic tests for patients outside of the cochlear implant program.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective working relationships with diverse populations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to administer and interpret a full range of audiological tests.
  • Ability to provide audiologic treatment including hearing aid and cochlear implant candidacy determination.
  • Master's Degree in Audiology or Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.).
  • California State licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) or eligibility.
  • California Dispensing Audiology license and NPI number.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Hearing Aid and/or Cochlear Implant programming.
