The Coding & Data Entry Clerk position at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation is a full-time role within the Health Services Department, specifically in the Business Office. The Coding & Data Entry Clerk will abstract data from the PCC Ambulatory Encounter form or the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and will be tasked with detecting and correcting any coding errors that may arise. Weekly, the clerk will generate error listings from the PCC and Coding Queue, researching and correcting errors as necessary. Additionally, the position may involve performing other duties and projects as required by management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and other staff members. Proficiency in typing is essential, as is familiarity with medical coding standards, particularly ICD-10. The role demands a high level of computer literacy, with the ability to access and interpret PCC data efficiently. Candidates should be prepared to handle a large workload with demanding deadlines, as well as be seated for prolonged periods while performing repetitive tasks at the computer.
