About the position

The Coding Specialist position at INTEGRIS Health involves working with the Revenue Integrity Team to ensure accurate coding of clinical information. The role focuses on analyzing clinical and demographic data, assigning appropriate ICD-10 codes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position is essential in supporting the organization's mission to provide exceptional healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Analyze relevant clinical and demographic information from Health Information records.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes following guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Understanding of disease processes and etiology.
• Familiarity with various computer applications including Windows, Excel, Hospital Information Systems, and encoders.
• Enrollment in medical coding coursework or awaiting certification for RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC; or 1 year prior coding experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
