About the position

The General Manager at The Perfect Press Coffee Co. will oversee all operations of the coffee shop, ensuring exceptional service and a positive customer experience. This role involves training staff, managing inventory, creating menus, and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. The manager will also engage with the community through workshops and events, making this position integral to the café's success and community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, and train new staff to ensure high product knowledge and service quality.
• Develop efficient processes to optimize service flow and customer experience.
• Collaborate with team members to design an innovative menu based on customer preferences.
• Perform barista duties as needed, including making beverages and assisting customers.
• Process customer orders, handle refunds and discounts, and ensure cash register accuracy.
• Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain high standards for ingredients.
• Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage while managing labor costs.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Monitor budget, control costs, and work towards meeting financial goals.

Requirements

• 3+ years in a management role in the food and beverage industry, specifically in a coffee shop or café.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, café equipment, and menu development.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for building a collaborative team culture.
• Experience with process creation, inventory control, and scheduling.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
