About the position

The Department of Psychiatry & Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri is seeking applications for a Research Professor position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank level. This non-tenure track role is situated within the Cognitive Neuroscience Core Research Lab, specifically in the Health Neuroscience Center, under the leadership of Principal Investigator Dr. Brett Froeliger. The successful candidate will contribute to an ongoing program of translational research focused on addiction, utilizing a combination of cognitive neuroscience techniques, mobile technologies, and clinical trial methodologies to explore innovative treatments for substance use disorders, including those related to nicotine, cocaine, and opioids. The research conducted in the Health Neuroscience Center is multifaceted, with current projects investigating the effects of neurostimulation, pharmacotherapies, and mindfulness-based interventions on addiction pathophysiology. The laboratory is located in the newly constructed Cognitive Neuroscience Systems (CNS) core facility, which is equipped with state-of-the-art research tools, including a dedicated Siemens PRISMA MRI scanner, a full suite of psychophysiology equipment, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), neuronavigation equipment, and various cognitive and behavioral testing rooms. This environment is designed to foster innovative research and collaboration among faculty, students, and staff. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing addiction research on campus, serving as the Project Director for one or more NIH-funded studies. They will have access to the CNS core facility and will be allocated sufficient time to plan and conduct their independent research projects. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong publication history that indicates potential for securing independent grant funding, as well as experience in conducting clinical trial research.

Responsibilities

Requirements
