About the position

The Collaborative Pianist position at Lebanon School District involves providing musical accompaniment for students and faculty, assisting in maintaining an organized classroom environment, and supporting various musical events and activities. The role requires strong classical piano skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Study and rehearse music to learn and interpret scores.
• Play from memory or by following a score.
• Transpose music to play in alternate keys as needed.
• Accompany school choirs and solo/ensemble events for district and state music festivals.
• Organize and distribute choir performance attire.
• Assist with logistical and administrative duties assigned by the choir director.
• Assist students auditioning for musicals.
• Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, recess, and field trips as directed by the administrator.
• Provide accompaniment for school musicals.
• Coach piano students during piano class if applicable.
• Serve as the primary source of information for substitute teachers assigned in choir.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior regarding student information.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• Experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong classical piano technique and grasp of classical repertoire.
• Excellent musicianship and collaborative skills.
• Ability to read and interpret professional documents and board policies.
• Basic mathematical skills for computations.
• Ability to define problems and prioritize workload effectively.
• Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to read and interpret musical terms in English, German, Italian, and French.
• Musical sight-reading skills.
• Working knowledge of solo, ensemble, and standard repertoire.
