About the position

The Collection Agent will be responsible for performing, administering, and coordinating all collection functions to reduce the aging of client accounts receivable (A/R). This hands-on position requires effective communication with clients and employees to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Daily collection calls and emails aligned with the target
• Contacting customers regarding overdue accounts and determining reasons for non-payment
• Performing account reconciliations with A/R
• Weekly and monthly reporting
• Monitoring customer accounts for non-payment, late payment and other irregularities
• Recommending that specific accounts should be shifted to a collection agency
• Researching/investigating historical data and resolving payment discrepancies
• Responding to customer questions and requests and addressing those questions/issues by liaising with other departments to facilitate the payment
• Complying with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures
• Monitoring customer payments in line with payment plans where agreed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
• 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Cash Collections experience, preferably within the HVAC industry
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional email communication skills
• Self-motivated and organized
