About the position

The Collection and Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing customer collections and processing employee payroll. This role ensures timely payment collections, resolves overdue accounts, and accurately processes payroll while adhering to company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, along with a solid understanding of payroll systems and collection procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee customer accounts, ensuring timely collections of outstanding payments.
  • Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to collect overdue payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities.
  • Work with customers to negotiate payment plans when necessary.
  • Prepare and send collection reports to management.
  • Escalate unresolved accounts to legal or collection agencies when appropriate.
  • Send invoices and customer statements at least twice a month.
  • Work with sales team and manager to solve issues in the billing.
  • Process semimonthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, employee records, and any payroll adjustments.
  • Prepare and file necessary payroll tax forms and remittances (e.g., W2, 1099, Quarterly Tax forms).
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of employee benefits, deductions, and other payroll-related tasks.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in collections and payroll management.
  • Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is an asset.
  • Good understanding of payroll systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with collections processes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
