About the position

The Collection Mission Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, operating, and maintaining software and firmware components integrated with solutions across various engineering and scientific disciplines. This role involves applying software standards and processes throughout the system life cycle to support multi-disciplinary solutions, including intelligence tasking, command and control, and digital signal processing. The engineer will interface with customers and technical personnel to ensure effective software integration and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Developing software detectors for IQ spectrum data
  • Integrating commercial measurement software into system architecture
  • Performing support to prototype testing and field experimentation
  • Performing all functional duties independently
  • Working on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of a given program
  • Overseeing the efforts of less senior staff and/or being responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
  • Initiating, supervising, and/or developing requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex programs
  • Providing strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff
  • Providing detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements and optimization development for mission-critical challenges

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TOP SECRET SCI Clearance
  • BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 15 years of experience in software engineering and programming for software application development
  • Expertise in requirements analysis, design, and coding methodologies
  • Knowledge of database design approaches, documentation standards, and configuration management
  • Familiarity with DOD software policy and DOD test and evaluation requirements

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Sceptre Software
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency spectrum including commercial and military bands
  • Proficient with Python
