About the position
The Collections Representative at Sun East Federal Credit Union is responsible for managing and collecting on assigned delinquent accounts through various communication methods. This role emphasizes member service and compliance with collection laws, ensuring that all interactions are conducted respectfully and in line with the organization's mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Perform collection of assigned delinquent accounts by telephone, correspondence, and email.
- Determine an appropriate plan of action for each delinquent account.
- Contact members regarding delinquent accounts, including MasterCard and negative balances.
- Handle all follow-up work related to member contact.
- Complete follow-up work for members who have not continued repayment schedules as agreed upon.
- Process deferments on qualifying loan products in a timely manner.
- Conduct all member contact in compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 to 2 years of previous collections experience.
- Familiarity with collection laws.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
