About the position

The Collections Associate at Law Bulletin Publishing Company is responsible for managing accounts receivable and collecting payments from delinquent customers. This role involves direct communication with customers to resolve outstanding balances and maintain accurate records of collection efforts. The position requires collaboration with various departments to address collection issues and support the accounts receivable team.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage and monitor accounts receivable balances for all product lines.
• Initiate calls and emails with delinquent customers to collect payments and settle accounts.
• Work with customers to find solutions for outstanding balances and facilitate arrangements for bringing accounts up to date.
• Update and maintain detailed file records of customer communication and closure of collection efforts.
• Maintain effective communication with customers via email and phone.
• Process refunds with proper approvals and generate monthly statements.
• Assist accounts receivable team in distributing invoices, charging credit card payments, and depositing checks.
• Collaborate with other departments to solve collection issues.
• Proactively seek solutions to problems and find opportunities for improvements.
• Work closely with the assistant controller and accounts receivable team.

Requirements

• Some college is preferred.
• 2 - 5 years of general work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Detail-oriented and organized.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using Clover, Khameleon, and/or KBI.
