Haven Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team remotely. This position is crucial for our operations as it involves providing cash and financial posting services, as well as collections for multiple facilities. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage report preparations, billing of institutional and professional claims, and maintain patient contact regarding outstanding account balances. The Collections Specialist will also be responsible for performing basic computer system maintenance and conducting patient account research to ensure accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes. As a Collections Specialist, you will play a vital role in the financial health of our organization, ensuring that we can continue to provide essential mental health and substance abuse services across our seven acute care hospitals and outpatient clinics. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to serve our patients effectively, making this position both rewarding and significant. Responsibilities

  • Provide cash and financial posting services for multiple facilities.
  • Prepare reports related to billing and collections.

  • Conduct patient account research to resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in electronic cash posting and collections.
  • Working knowledge of HMS/Medhost is required.
  • Experience with patient accounting systems and Waystar electronic billing system preferred.
  • Prior experience in cash posting in a healthcare setting is required; outpatient experience preferred.
