About the position

The Collections Specialist role at TEKsystems involves managing early-stage collections for a Fortune 100 Financial Institution. This position requires making and receiving a high volume of calls to assist delinquent members in resolving their financial issues while providing counseling and support to mitigate losses. The role is hybrid, requiring two days a week in the office, and involves a full-time schedule with mandatory Saturday work.

Responsibilities

• Contact and counsel delinquent members to cure delinquency using payment options and loss mitigation tools.
• Control delinquency on Consumer and Credit Card loan accounts.
• Ensure required notifications, including collection emails and letters, are sent to members.
• Explain relinquishing options such as settlements and bankruptcy to members.
• Obtain detailed financial information from delinquent members and offer solutions to avoid bankruptcy or charge-off.
• Perform manager share transfers for amounts up to authorized limits.
• Provide required reporting to supervisors and management, including daily activity trends and payment tracking.
• Use online tools and contact appropriate parties for assistance.
• Regularly review member account data to ensure accuracy and compliance with guidelines.

Requirements

• Entry-level experience in collections or customer service.
• Strong communication skills for counseling members.
• Ability to work in a call center environment and handle high call volumes.
• Familiarity with financial products and loss mitigation tools.
