About the position

The Financial Resolution Specialist at Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union is responsible for working with members to provide solutions that mitigate losses and collect on delinquent accounts. This role involves managing various loan products, processing legal actions, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while maintaining a focus on customer service and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Initiates contact with members through various communication channels to recover delinquent accounts.
• Manages and maintains weekly and monthly collection queues to achieve credit union goals.
• Researches and implements resolution options to maximize repayment and minimize losses.
• Processes legal request packets for lawsuits, repossessions, and bankruptcies, ensuring follow-through on all stages.
• Negotiates redemptions and processes necessary documentation for collections and legal actions.
• Posts judgments and reaffirmations received from attorneys.
• Initiates payment posting and processes claims to recover funds.
• Gathers and presents case facts to management for approval on member requests for loan workouts.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience in collections or customer service.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Strong listening, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to be bonded.
