About the position

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) Coordinator at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is responsible for supporting migrant or seasonal farmworker students during their first year of undergraduate studies. The coordinator will work under the CAMP director to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities, ensuring a supportive environment for participants. This role requires a strong understanding of post-secondary institutional functions and the unique needs of the migratory population, along with effective communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate all CAMP activities.
  • Foster a supportive environment for CAMP participants.
  • Provide educational workshops and support services to improve academic skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and represent the program to the public.
  • Interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures relevant to the program.
  • Work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Establish cooperative relationships in a multicultural environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related field.
  • Three years of experience providing student support in college admissions, advising, or recruitment.
  • Experience with migrant students and understanding of their unique needs.
