About the position

The College Bound Case Manager at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor is responsible for promoting student success through leadership, advocacy, and collaboration. This part-time role focuses on providing preventive services and addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development needs of students. The Case Manager will implement a comprehensive program that supports students in achieving their goals and will work closely with members, parents, and school officials to ensure effective delivery of services.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a written plan for effective delivery of the College Bound program based on current member's school data.
  • Communicates the goals of the comprehensive College Bound program to members, parents, and school officials.
  • Maintains current and appropriate resources for all participants.
  • Provides direct services through the Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning, and Preventive and Responsive Services.
  • Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet members' needs and school goals.
  • Assists members with developing academic, career, and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.
  • Accurately interprets and utilizes student data.
  • Provides individual and group counseling and guidance for personal, social, educational, and career plans.
  • Consults and collaborates with parents/guardians, teachers, and staff about meeting the special needs of students.
  • Administers tests and analyzes results to provide information about educational, career, and personal/social needs.
  • Assists with placement and follow-up services for students.
  • Provides information and resource services for students, parents/guardians, and faculty.
  • Assists members in building self-esteem and developing decision-making, problem-solving, and positive human relations skills.
  • Plans with teachers, counselors, parents/guardians, and students for modifying student behavior.
  • Utilizes community resources to address the needs of members.
  • Maintains comprehensive records and reports.
  • Collects and analyzes data to guide program direction and emphasis.
  • Monitors members' academic performance, behavior, and attendance and assists with appropriate interventions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of +60 units at an accredited college or university, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Strong interest in education and positively impacting member learning.
  • Ability to work independently and in an undefined environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse communities.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
