About the position

The College & Career Coach at North Canyon High School will represent the ElevateEdAZ program, collaborating with educators, administrators, and the ElevateEdAZ team to enhance college and career readiness among students. This role focuses on coordinating career development opportunities, promoting career and technical education (CTE) pathways, and supporting students in exploring and preparing for their future careers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school educators and administrators to coordinate career development opportunities for students.
• Increase student enrollment in and completion of CTE pathways aligned to priority industry sectors.
• Promote CTE pathways to prospective students to increase enrollment and completion rates.
• Maintain employer relationships within the school in collaboration with the ElevateEdAZ Business Partnership Team.
• Support students in exploring career pathways and facilitate student aptitude testing.
• Provide 1:1 and group career preparation support, including resume writing and mock interviews.
• Coordinate work-based learning experiences, including job shadows and internships.
• Develop in-school career awareness and exploration events and activities.
• Assist in identifying transportation solutions for students to access work-based learning opportunities.
• Empower educators through employer-led externships to integrate industry skills into the curriculum.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in volunteer management, counseling, coaching, education, or community relations.
• Minimum 1-year experience working with youth, preferably in a teaching or guidance counselor capacity.
• Experience working with schools, school leaders, and/or staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in all MS Office products.
• Ability to travel to schools and partners regularly; reliable transportation is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in the industry is highly preferred.
• Experience implementing a strategic plan is highly preferred.
• Understanding of work-based learning, project-based learning, and/or experiential learning opportunities.
