About the position

United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) is seeking motivated and ambitious college graduates for the position of Financial Underwriter. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to embark on an accelerated career path in the financial services sector. The position requires full-time, on-site attendance in Pontiac, MI, and does not provide immigration sponsorship, so candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. In this role, you will be responsible for providing elite service to both internal and external clients, managing multiple priorities while building rapport with clients. You will collect, review, and examine applicants' financial histories and records, perform risk assessment reports, and analyze clients' financial statements to identify effective alternatives to their applications. Making loan approval decisions is a critical part of your responsibilities, as is maintaining knowledge of and adhering to investor guidelines, state and federal underwriting lending policies, and the required documentation. You will also need to keep up with changes and adaptations in the industry and communicate with clients regarding loan conditions and statuses via phone or video message.
