About the position

Old Mission is a proprietary quantitative trading firm and is currently recruiting a Fundamental Analyst to join the Options team in our Chicago headquarters. This research analyst will be responsible for conducting economic, event-driven, and company-specific research and analysis and will work with the team to discover new trading opportunities for the firm. We value idea generation over reporting. We are looking for someone who can stay up to the minute with breaking market events, use fundamental principles to interpret them quantitatively, and help influence trading decisions. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and analyzing financial events and information that will impact the options of underlying securities. The analyst will support traders by being the sole point of contact for conducting quantitative and macroeconomic research, ensuring that the team has the necessary insights to make informed trading decisions. In this position, the analyst will analyze datasets to identify their potential impact on the price of certain securities and their underlying options. Conducting both quantitative and qualitative analysis on information that could affect trading decisions is crucial. The analyst will collaborate directly with traders, providing them with the fundamental overlay necessary to develop tools, analyze market data, and test strategies.
