About the position

The College Intern - Digital Marketing Social Media position at Health Alliance Plan (HAP) offers a unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the healthcare and insurance sector. This paid internship, running from May 12 to August 8, 2025, requires full-time availability and involves a hybrid work format, combining remote and onsite work in Troy, MI. Interns will collaborate with industry professionals, contribute to a Capstone Project, and enhance their skills through networking events and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, healthcare policies, and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of projects.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and support the execution of initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of healthcare-related data.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and propose innovative solutions.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation, including policies and project-related materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments to support a positive work environment.
  • Assist with social media strategy execution and media campaigns.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an accredited 4-year undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant field.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, initiative, and a desire to learn and grow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Some knowledge of social media strategy execution outside of personal use.
  • Knowledge of Google and Meta Analytics.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with tagging, link building, user experience, and content management tools.
