About the position

The Color Quality Assurance Internship at E. & J. Gallo offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in quality assurance within the beverage industry. Interns will assist in providing technical support to customers, engage in product quality assurance, and collaborate with various departments to enhance their understanding of the company's operations. This internship is designed for students pursuing degrees in Life Sciences or Agricultural Sciences, providing a platform to develop skills relevant for future employment or graduate studies.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in providing support to customers in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments including customer service, sales, R&D, and operations to obtain information for customers.
  • Engages in product quality assurance and food safety systems related work.
  • Manages controlled documents system.
  • Prepares weekly reporting metrics that monitor the completion of customer technical inquiries and drive improvement.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, including sampling, cleaning, record clerk duties, and special projects.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, including timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or Agricultural Sciences; OR have obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree from the school of Life Sciences or Agricultural Sciences.
  • Required to work overtime when necessary.
  • Required to be 18 years or older.

Nice-to-haves

  • Junior or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Enology, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Processing, or Food Science.
  • Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals.
  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing solid conclusions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple assignments.
