About the position

The Co-Manufacturing Quality Manager at Lyons Magnus is responsible for ensuring the quality and food safety of co-manufactured products across multiple facilities. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards, while supporting over 20 co-manufacturing sites. The position reports to the Director of Co-Manufacturing and Supplier Quality and plays a crucial role in monitoring performance metrics, conducting audits, and implementing food safety plans.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports the mission, values, and vision of Lyons Magnus.
  • Works collaboratively and professionally with employees of Lyons Magnus and co-manufacturers.
  • Serves as a liaison to Supply Chain on Co-man quality needs.
  • Creates and implements key metrics and scorecards to monitor the performance of the co-manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensures co-manufacturing facilities produce safe, high-quality thermally processed foods and beverages in compliance with food safety regulations and customer specifications.
  • Assists co-manufacturing sites in the development and implementation of their Food Safety plans.
  • Conducts quality and food safety audits at the co-manufacturers to assess compliance with standards.
  • Provides guidance on corrective actions for quality and food safety issues.
  • Works with co-manufacturers to manage and resolve complaints.
  • Serves as a resource for conducting risk assessments and leading problem solving and process improvements.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and manufacture microbiologically safe and high-quality food and beverage products.
  • Utilizes internal programs such as DAX, RedZone, & Trace Gains.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, FSMA) and industry standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP).
  • In-depth knowledge of SQF standards and GFSI-certified quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic processing and filling of food and beverage products.
  • Familiarity with food processing, manufacturing systems, and ingredient quality management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections to assess quality and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in quality management, auditing, and food safety processes within the food and beverage industry.
