About the position

As a Combine Mechanic at Lamb Weston, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy equipment, specifically focusing on the maintenance and repair of pea and corn harvesters, as well as semi-trucks and trailers. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining these machines during both the harvest season and the off-season. You will be expected to perform heavy truck troubleshooting and repair, which includes the replacement of suspension and brake system components, as well as light truck repairs involving engine and drive components. Additionally, you will troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems and engage in welding tasks as needed. You will also be responsible for completing and comprehending the work order system (SAP), which is essential for tracking maintenance and repair activities. Driving seasonal harvest operator crews to work sites will be part of your duties, ensuring that our teams are efficiently transported to their locations. As an active participant in the company's safety programs, you will contribute to a culture of safety and compliance within the workplace. Furthermore, you will be expected to participate in proactive team efforts aimed at achieving departmental and company goals, and you may be assigned other duties as necessary to support the team and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, semi-trucks, trailers, and pea/corn harvesters in the Harvest Department.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of all pea and corn harvesters during the off-season.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of pea and corn harvesters during the harvest season.
  • Engage in heavy truck troubleshooting and repair, including replacement of suspension and brake system components.
  • Perform light truck troubleshooting and repair, including replacement of engine and drive components.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Weld equipment as necessary.
  • Complete and comprehend work order system (SAP).
  • Drive seasonal harvest operator crews to worksite.
  • Actively participate in the company's safety programs.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-year minimum related experience or technical school degree/certificate.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret service manuals and work order systems.
  • Valid driver license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
