About the position

As a Combined Cycle Plant Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing heat and mass balance diagrams, functional specifications for main plant mechanical equipment, and performance predictions for combined cycle power plants. This role requires strong collaboration with application engineers and commercial teams, directly impacting GE Vernova's success in selling and building these plants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project specific thermal power plant cycle designs and performance optimization.
  • Interface with combined cycle application engineering technical leads and proposal teams.
  • Work closely with application engineering and regional commercial management to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop heat and mass balances to provide contractual guarantees and correction curves.
  • Generate data to support equipment sizing and cost estimation.
  • Interface with key internal customers in commercial, application engineering, and execution engineering organizations.
  • Support performance risk evaluation and provide inputs on application tools development.
  • Conduct system engineering for core combined cycle plant equipment, including process calculations and component design.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary global engineering teams for successful project execution.
  • Issue documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in power generation products, specifically gas and steam turbines.
  • Knowledge of combined cycle product lines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated with innovative thinking.
  • Experience with performance modeling software is an asset.
  • Understanding of process flow diagrams and plant operational concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. degree in a relevant field is considered an advantage.
