The Combo Driver position at Estes Express Lines involves operating various types of equipment to transport freight safely and efficiently. Drivers will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain compliance records, and may assist with loading and unloading freight. Responsibilities

• Operate all types of equipment to perform safety functions including manual transmission and chaining tires.
• Safely operate a tractor/trailer for freight transportation in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report maintenance issues.
• Maintain records in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensure the security of equipment and cargo during transportation.
• Comply with requirements for the safe transportation of hazardous materials.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers and the public.
• Assist with local pick-up and delivery routes, hub/regional runs, and dock work as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old per FMCSA regulations.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
• Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Must reside within 75 miles of the terminal or work assignment.
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements required.
• Minimum of 1 year driving experience required.
• Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb. vehicle).
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Must pass a FMCSA required medical exam and road test.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electronic logs and in-cab technology.
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
• Familiarity with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA regulations.
