The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the daily operations of a leading media and technology company. This program is designed for students whose academic curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, allowing them to work alongside Comcast's top innovators. As a co-op, you will become an integral part of the Comcast team, engaging in creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects across various business units. Throughout this experience, you will have the chance to receive mentorship and professional development while enjoying a collaborative and dynamic work environment. In this role, you will primarily support several internal teams in coordinating and implementing engineering requests for capacity augments and network upgrades, aligning with Comcast's objectives for the Backbone Network. Your responsibilities will include the design, configuration, activation, and operational support of Comcast's Backbone Edge networks. You will also serve as a liaison between various entities and customers, providing unique technical solutions as needed. It is essential to comply with industry and company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. As a co-op, you will work with moderate guidance in your area of knowledge, determining the necessary resources, technology, and course of action to achieve results. You will collaborate with project management to deliver capacity and solutions that meet or exceed requirements and schedules. Additionally, you will manage circuits from order entry through testing and activation, create Comcast Network Maintenance tickets for service-affecting and non-service-affecting activities, and accurately identify all affected circuits or network elements. Emphasis on communication and soft skills is required, as you will be documenting internal telecommunications systems and designing and configuring telecommunications systems.
