About the position

The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the daily operations of a leading media and technology company. In this role, you will be part of the Wi-Fi Quality Assurance team, which is under the Customer Promises Equipment Design and Development team within the Technology and Product Experience Division. Your responsibilities will include testing new products that utilize the latest Wi-Fi technologies, such as Wi-Fi 7, on various devices including routers, laptops, and mobile devices. You will assist in product testing, analyze results, and create reports for management. This position offers a chance to apply your academic knowledge to real-world scenarios, contributing to products that enhance entertainment experiences for families. As a Co-op, you will run various types of tests, including functionality, throughput performance, interoperability, capacity, stability, and end-user experience testing. You will work closely with a Senior engineer who will guide you through test methodologies, the use of testbeds and equipment, and the creation of test cases. You will also learn to track software issues using tools like JIRA and participate in meetings with software and hardware development engineers, program managers, and other key stakeholders. This role promises exposure to new challenges and troubleshooting techniques, making it an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant developments in the technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of new test cases and test suites
  • Use the Test Case Management tool to manage tests and their results
  • Run test cases based on the test suites created
  • Create reports of the tests run
  • Record any issues found in the JIRA defect tracking tool
  • Follow up with development engineers on defects created and work with them to resolve issues
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Use cutting-edge technology test beds for running performance testing
  • Automate test cases and test executions

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from Drexel University with a cooperative learning track
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 23, 2024, through March 28, 2025
  • Available to report in-person to the work location in Philadelphia, PA
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America
