About the position

The Comics Author/Journalist position at Comic Book Resources (CBR) is a paid freelance role focused on creating engaging and informative comic lists for a discerning audience. The role offers the flexibility of remote work and the opportunity for career growth within a supportive editorial team. Candidates should have a strong passion for comics and writing, along with the ability to produce high-quality content efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Write a minimum of 5 Lists per week in CBR's house style, including three regular sized Lists (1,400 words) and two Long Lists (2,000 words).
• Fact-check, format, link, and source images, including basic editing tasks such as sizing and brightness adjustments.
• Brainstorm, pitch, and develop original content ideas for publication on the site.
• Accept and implement feedback from the editorial team.
• Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team.

Requirements

• A passion for comic strips, writing, and a drive to grow within the industry.
• Broad working knowledge of Comics, including DC, Marvel, TMNT, Transformers, Power Rangers, GI Joe, Invincible, and Star Wars.
• Ability to analyze content and pull directly from source material to support claims.
• A sharp eye for grammatical details and excellent command of the English language.
• Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times.
• Comfortable working in a fully virtual environment.
• General understanding of comics culture and strong research skills.
