About the position

The Command Center Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security operations for all Ilitch owned organizations. This position is responsible for coordinating a risk-free environment by monitoring safety systems, dispatching personnel, and preparing reports related to security incidents. The Coordinator assists Security Managers in overseeing operational and administrative functions, ensuring quality service is delivered to both internal and external guests.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate computerized safety systems including CCTV and access control during normal and emergency operations.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare critical incident reports for the Security Supervisor.
  • Dispatch Security Representatives for operational shifts, including events and concerts.
  • Monitor and respond to alarm/intrusion systems, notifying public safety responders as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement agencies.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance plan for Command Center equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on all investigations until they are closed.

Requirements

  • College coursework in security management or criminal justice, or equivalent experience in security or public safety dispatching.
  • One year of experience in security and safety, preferably in law enforcement or event management.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal and civil codes related to private sector security policies.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in security management or criminal justice.
  • Professional training certifications in Security Management or Criminal Justice.
  • Experience in a security control room environment and advanced computer application knowledge.
