About The Position

The Command Central Hybrid Deployment Engineer at Motorola Solutions is responsible for coordinating and implementing customer installation activities for public safety solutions, both on-premise and in the cloud. This role focuses on ensuring that systems are fully functional and available for software deployment, troubleshooting various system and network issues, and delivering solutions that enhance public safety operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in Enterprise, Public Safety or government Systems Deployment - preferred
• Experience in at least one of the following is required: Systems Integration, System Test, System Support, Information Technology, Public Safety experience preferred
• Proficiency in Windows Server 2016 or newer, Linux Flatcar / RedHat
• Proficiency in Windows SQL Server 2016 or newer
• Must be a self-motivated team player
• Must have excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016 and later
• Knowledge of Linux (Flatcar and RedHat)
• Knowledge of VMware ESXi hypervisor, RedHat OpenShift, managing Virtual Machines
• Networking Expertise: Uses tools, packet capture, traffic analysis, etc.
• Knowledge or use of scrum methodology and available tools to manage project tasks (eg. Airtable, Kanban Board, LeanKit)
• Understands Public Safety customer environments for product security and reliability
• General software and IP networking skills are critical. Must be a Problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements customer installation activities in a time-sensitive manner
• Ensures customer-delivered systems are fully functional and available for software deployment
• Troubleshoots system issues, network issues, and infrastructure problems
• Delivers solutions within the context of a defined product, standard and custom interfaces, and flexibility
• Writes Standard Operating Procedures when required
• Identifies product defects and monitors resolution from engineering to customer acceptance
• Tracks billable hours for project work completed
