About the position

The Command & Control (C2) Systems Operations Research Analyst will support the Langley Air Force Base customer by analyzing the effects of proposed requirements on C2 networks. The role focuses on enhancing the warfighter's ability to employ emerging C2 concepts and evaluating technical solutions against various criteria such as schedule, cost, and operational relevance. The analyst will also document alignment to Joint and Air Force doctrine and provide support for platform programs in defining TDL requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the effects of proposed requirements on C2 networks and their enhancement of warfighter capabilities.
  • Evaluate technical solutions against schedule, cost, need satisfaction, risk, and operational relevance.
  • Analyze C2 requirements and solutions affecting Air Force, Joint, and Coalition missions through C2 TDLs.
  • Document alignment to Joint and Air Force doctrine or recommend changes based on increased requirements.
  • Assist platform programs in defining TDL requirements and planning for necessary supporting systems.
  • Provide expertise for integrating new capabilities onto Air Force platforms.
  • Support the development of documentation, briefings, and justifications for Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submissions.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience working operations in Airborne or Ground Theater Air Control System (USMC or USN equivalent).
  • Two years of operational experience in Air Operations Center (AOC), Air Support Operations Center (ASOC), Maritime Operations Center (MOC), Tactical Air Command Center (TACC), Naval Tactical Air Command Center (N-TACC), Tactical Air Operations Center (TAOC), or Direct Air Support Center (DASC).
  • Five years of specialized experience with TDL systems, gateways, and networks.
  • Five years of experience analyzing and evaluating operational capabilities and limitations of technical solutions for TDL systems.
  • Three years of experience in a HHQ staff officer position creating and delivering decision briefs and reports.
  • Three years of experience in analyzing, developing, and evaluating directives, policies, and procedures for TDL Systems and Networks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Rated operations experience (11, 12, 13B or Multi Domain Operations, Air Weapons Controller AFSCs, USMC or US Navy equivalent).
  • Rated Pilot Required.
