About the position

The Commercial Appraisal Review Analyst position at FirstBank is designed for licensed appraisal review professionals who will leverage their appraisal experience to review commercial real estate transactions. The role emphasizes customer service, process improvement, and risk mitigation while providing appraisal support to various stakeholders within the bank. Analysts will ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, manage projects to enhance valuation processes, and serve as a resource for team members and loan officers.

Responsibilities

  • Independently complete timely and efficient commercial collateral valuation report reviews and secondary report reviews.
  • Ensure commercial appraisal reports comply with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a support for branch loan officers and loan support staff for complex and non-complex commercial real estate valuation related questions.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the company's commercial collateral valuation report and review requirements.
  • Manage and complete projects to improve commercial collateral valuation-related processes and procedures.
  • Clearly and professionally communicate with vendors and staff regarding commercial appraisal ordering and review requirements.
  • Act as a resource for new or inexperienced review team members and assist them in gaining appraisal development and review knowledge.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within defined FirstBank Valuation Services core hours while managing ongoing workload.
  • Meet assigned Service Level Objective performance goals and appraisal compliance expectations.
  • Attend appraisal courses and seminars to maintain licensed appraiser status and advance knowledge.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • A combination of post-high school education, job-related certification, and related experience equivalent to 5 years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
  • Experience completing and/or reviewing commercial real estate appraisal reports.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards (USPAP) for appraisal report development.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three to five years of experience as a licensed appraiser with commercial real estate appraisal development experience.
  • Initiative to expand current license/certification status through additional training courses and appraisal experience.
