About the position

The purpose of this job is to support construction projects and remodels through the development and production of architectural design drawings and construction documents. This role is crucial in implementing architectural projects, which involves the development of design and construction documents, as well as providing support to the Project Architect during the permitting, bidding, and construction administration phases. The Architectural Designer will coordinate design criteria through effective communication with various internal departments, vendors, and consultants, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with the company's standards and client expectations. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Architectural Designer will prepare drawing revisions for project updates and changes, review vendor shop drawings for compliance, and distribute drawings to contractors, vendors, suppliers, building officials, and company team members. The role requires modeling behaviors that support the company's common purpose, ensuring that both guests and team members receive the highest level of support. It is essential that all activities conducted by the Architectural Designer are in compliance with the relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining the integrity and quality of the projects undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects and remodels through the development of architectural design drawings and construction documents.
• Implement architectural projects by developing design and construction documents.
• Provide support to the Project Architect during permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
• Coordinate design criteria through communication with various internal departments, vendors, and consultants.
• Prepare drawing revisions for project updates and changes.
• Review vendor shop drawings for compliance.
• Distribute drawings to contractors, vendors, suppliers, building officials, and company team members.
• Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose and ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.
• Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate required.
• Associate degree in drafting preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Architecture and Revit.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience as an Architectural Designer or Project Coordinator.
• Thorough understanding of building construction methods and techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes.
• Commercial construction experience and knowledge preferred.
• Coordination skills with responsibility for communicating with other disciplines and the client.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects successfully.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
