About the position

The Commercial Banker role at Truist Bank involves managing and growing long-term commercial relationships with clients who have annual sales ranging from $5 million to $75 million. The position requires offering a comprehensive range of financial services, including loans and deposits, while leveraging internal teams to enhance client experiences. The banker will be responsible for prospecting new clients, understanding credit processes, and ensuring compliance with risk and operational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, solicit, develop, manage, service, retain and grow long-term commercial relationships for clients with $5MM to $75MM in annual sales.
  • Offer a full range of loan, deposit, and fee-based services to existing and prospective commercial clients.
  • Leverage the CCB Industry & Advisory teams to create optimal client experiences.
  • Refer business and personal financial needs of assigned clients through the appropriate channels according to Integrated Relationship Management (IRM).
  • Manage, service and grow an assigned book of commercial banking clients.
  • Execute on prospecting activities to grow new commercial banking households.
  • Understand and contribute to the credit decisioning process, including analysis and interpretation of financial statements, credit structuring, underwriting requirements, and risk identification.
  • Focus on driving continual improvement in portfolio revenue growth and new production revenue.
  • Proactively contact clients to fully develop commercial banking relationships by executing on IRM principles.
  • Monitor, maintain and update sales activity, pipeline, and other pertinent information using the Bank's CRM system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • Three to eight (3-8) years of experience in commercial banking.
  • Clear understanding of credit and finance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
