About the position

The Commercial Banker role focuses on developing and executing business strategies to acquire new commercial clients and enhance existing relationships. This position involves making sales calls, understanding client needs, and collaborating with various bank departments to provide tailored financial solutions. The Commercial Banker is responsible for maintaining the quality and profitability of business products while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the quality, profitability, and growth of business and consumer products through appropriate pricing and fees.
  • Demonstrate effective sales strategies to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships.
  • Apply need-based sales techniques to identify products and services that enhance customer relationships with the bank.
  • Set business development strategy for the assigned market; identify opportunities and make sales calls to existing clients and prospects.
  • Collect and analyze customer and prospect financials to assess viability.
  • Review loan applications, tax returns, income statements, bank statements, and other relevant data to determine actual cash flow and perform ongoing credit grade determinations within policy guidelines.
  • Identify and structure large, complex loan and deposit opportunities that optimize credit quality and profitability.
  • Coordinate portfolio management functions collaborating with a team that may include Credit Analysts and Commercial Banking Assistants.
  • Apply a high level of business acumen and risk management expertise to assess the viability of loan and deposit opportunities.
  • Prepare and articulate accurate, comprehensive, relevant information to the Loan Committee for loan approval.
  • Oversee ongoing quality control for a portfolio by executing proper documentation, compliance, and collection efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions.
  • Achieve market objectives as set by Bank leadership.
  • Use Customer Relationship Management systems to track sales efforts and prospects.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies.
  • Represent the Bank in business development efforts and at networking and community functions.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborate with other lines of business to attain mutual goals and better serve customers.
  • Ensure adherence to AML/BSA requirements, audit procedures, dual control, security, Business Continuity, and all other regulated banking requirements.
  • Adhere to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of proven success in Commercial Banking.
  • 4-year college degree, BA in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related major, required.
  • Ability to analyze markets, identify prospects, develop and execute consultative, value-added sales techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to meet and exceed established targets.
  • Demonstrated record of relationship building with business, civic, and governmental organizations.
  • Currently established within the micro-community, where reputation and followership is in place.
  • Flexibility around work hours and be available at times convenient to the client.
