About the position
The Commercial Boiler Technician role at HB McClure involves servicing, maintaining, and diagnosing commercial and industrial boiler systems. The technician will work with various boiler brands and control systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. This position is crucial for maintaining client satisfaction across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, and education.
Responsibilities
- Install, start-up, and commission new and replacement commercial boiler systems including expansion tanks, pumps, and water level controls.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on natural gas, propane, oil, dual fuel burners, and steam systems and boilers up to 200 psi and boiler systems up to 1000HP.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating customer concerns, answering questions, and performing customer training as needed.
- Prepare boilers and related systems for inspection by state certified inspectors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required; trade/technical school or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 5+ years of troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial boilers with knowledge of advanced boiler control systems (Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens, Auto flame, etc.).
- Robust understanding of multiple boiler manufacturers including Clever-Brooks, Lochinvar, Hurst, Burnham, Triad, Fulton, Patterson-Kelly.
- Proficiency in various boiler/burner controls and thorough understanding of control circuit troubleshooting and operating knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to successfully complete criminal background and drug screenings; valid PA Driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required.
