About the position

As a Commercial Card Fraud Analyst at Finally, you will play a crucial role in onboarding applicants and analyzing existing customers within the company's small to medium-sized business charge card portfolio. This position involves utilizing your expertise in fraud detection and data analysis to enhance the quality of the lending portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. You will collaborate with various teams across the lending side of the business, including Sales, Tech, and FinOps, to address and resolve fraud cases effectively.

Responsibilities

• Utilize past experience and fraud tools to identify fraudulent applications and suspicious behaviors while onboarding potential customers.
• Continuously monitor business credit card transactions for signs of fraud.
• Analyze transaction data to identify patterns and trends that may indicate fraudulent activity.
• Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious applications and transactions.
• Prepare detailed reports on fraud cases, including findings and recommendations for preventing future incidents.
• Work closely with other departments, such as Revenue, Customer Service, Legal, and Compliance, to address and resolve fraud cases.
• Recommend and implement improvements to fraud detection systems and processes.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience analyzing small to medium sized business customers from a credit/lending perspective at a lending fintech, commercial bank, or credit card company.
• Degree from a reputable institution in a quantitative field.
• Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and identify anomalies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaborating with team members.
• Familiarity with fraud detection tools and software from a variety of 3rd-party providers.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior credit/charge card experience.
• SQL and Python skills are a definite plus.
• Keen eye for detail to spot inconsistencies and potential fraud indicators.
• Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively using data and past experience.
