About the position

The Commercial Client Administrator (Lending Assistant) is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to Relationship Managers in a commercial lending environment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service, resolving client issues, and managing loan documentation and portfolio reporting. The position requires effective communication and organizational skills to assist in fostering customer relationships and ensuring compliance with lending policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to Relationship Managers by processing transactions, renewing loans, scheduling closings, and resolving account/customer issues.
  • Assists in obtaining financial data, drafting letters and agreements, and clearing exceptions.
  • Coordinates with CPAs, attorneys, and insurance agents to resolve transactional issues.
  • Prepares and reviews loan documentation, coordinates execution, and ensures compliance with regulations.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Relationship Manager and Lending Services during document preparation.
  • Closes complete loan packages in conjunction with or in the absence of the Relationship Manager.
  • Maintains knowledge of current lending policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Monitors and maintains multiple reports, keeping Relationship Managers informed of issues.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities to sell ancillary services like treasury management and wealth management.
  • Participates in joint calls with clients at the invitation of the Relationship Manager.
  • Manages deposit relationships and associated services, including wires and account setups.
  • Monitors past due reports and coordinates the collection of payments.
  • Opens and services commercial deposit accounts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and 3 years' experience in a commercial lending or wealth business client support function; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of loan documentation and related financial statements.
  • Understanding of ancillary services like treasury management and merchant services.
  • Proficient in applicable banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of automated loan origination platforms and lending workflows.
  • Familiarity with loan imaging systems for managing credit file information.
  • Basic understanding of complex commercial loans, syndications, and participations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
